Casanova was an accomplished artist best known for his works in crayon and pencil. He studied painting in Dresden under Silvester and Dietrich, and in 1752, he moved to Rome where he designed the plates for Winkelman's "Monumenti Antichi." He was named Professor of the Academy of Dresden in 1764. (1722 - 1774) |
