1856-1924 Henry Ryland was a figure-and genre-painter, an illustrator and a stained glass designer who studied at Heatherley's South Kensington and at Julians. He worked for the English Illustrated Magazine and was elected to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1898. Ryland's works were exhibited at the Royal Academy and other fine art institutes from 1890 on. |
