(1882-1957) A painter and gallery owner who specialized in landscape paintings, Bartlett studied at the Art Students League in New York and in Boston. He moved to Los Angeles in 1915, opened a studio, and exhibited locally in both group and one-man shows. After touring Europe in 1924, he returned to Los Angeles and joined the staff of the Chouinard School of Art. In 1928, he opened a gallery to promote watercolors, etchings, and smaller oil paintings not handled by traditional galleries. |
