| 1892-1974 After showing early promise as a fine painter, Paul Grimm won a scholarship for art study at the Dusseldorf Royal Academy. He began his professional career painting backdrops for movie studios, but is best known for his paintings of the Southern California desert. He also gained recognition for his paintings of Indian portraits, missions and the High Sierra. | ||
