1885-1959 Albert Derome began his artistic career as a political cartoonist and commercial artist. He is best known, however, as an impressionist and painted landscapes and seascapes on his many painting expeditions to Nevada, Arizona and California. Although prohibited from selling his work professionally due to an insurance policy stipulation, Derome exhibited his oils and watercolors on an amateur basis, earning him several first prizes and substantial recognition throughout the artistic community. |
