Born in Paris, France in 1836, Fantin-Latour painted in a wide variety of genres, from portraits and still-lifes to allegorical and mythological works. He is best known for his still live of beautiful flowers, particularly roses. He also produced lithographs. His original oils are exhibited in the Louvre, the National Gallery, and in private collections. He died in 1904. |
