I knew I wanted to be an artist even as a little girl playing with colored pencils with my twin sister at grandparent's house. I was always involved in art projects at school, including class plays and events posters. After obtaining an advertising art degree at Kutztown University in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch county, I worked as a designer in the corporate art departments of Bank Ron America and Blue Cross, and as toy and package designer for Hasbro Toys. After relocating to the southwest I enjoyed creating hundreds of souvenir products with my husband, including posters and books, and was pleased to most often hear from customers coming our store that we had the "Desneyland" of souvenirs. Medical illustration, architectural renderings, computer packaging, mural work for the EPA, and botanical illustration for the Rodale Press kept me busy for several years until I decided to pursue painting and the fine arts. I currently reside in Las Vegas, and find it most inspiring; there is creativity everywhere I work closely with interior designers in the residential field as well as the hotel and casino industry. |
